INTRODUCTION
The Geophysical is the science that studies the physical
phenomena that take place in our planet, emphasizing between these, electromagnetism,
the propagation of mechanical waves in the terrestrial crust and the gravity.
This science can be defined as the application of the physics and geology to the
study of the materials that compose the terrestrial crust and of the fields of
force that arise from her and exert their influence towards the outside.
In
the Geophysical Prospections it is tried to detect anomalies caused by certain
rocks and/or minerals in certain areas of interest of the terrestrial crust.
These anomalies can be:
- Gravitational (topographic resistances and of mass
density)
- Magnetic (differences of magnetic susceptiblidad)
- Of Electrical
Resistivity
- Of rapidity of propagation of mechanical waves
- Radioactive
Anomalies (of arcillosidad or K-40, C-14 in dating, etc.)
- Elastic Anomalies
in Civil Work projects, etc.

Floods and Wells In order to analyze the potentiality of the most favorable layers to lodge a significant volume of water, hybrid geoeléctricos drillings can be made. The
field of study of the prospections corresponds to the effects produced by rocks
and metallic minerals in anomalous areas (turned aside of background), emphasizing
between these: the force of gravitational attraction, the radioactive disintegration,
the spontaneous electrical currents, the electrical resistance of grounds, the
rapidity of the seismic waves, etc.
The maping of a geophysical anomaly can
mean the discovery of a geologic formation apt for the industrial operation. In
addition, the information point to point given by a prospection allows quantitatively
to characterize the land prospected in agreement with certain physical parameters,
which is a valuable support to make correct decisions related to the use from
the ground.
